At Simplegence, we respect your privacy and are committed to protecting the personal information you share with us. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and how we safeguard it.
1. Information We Collect
We collect minimal information necessary to operate and improve our platform:
a) Email Address
When you subscribe to our newsletter or submit a form on our website, we collect your email address. This is the primary personal information we collect.
b) Contact Form Data
If you use our contact form, we may collect your name, email address, and the content of your message.
c) Usage Data
We may collect non-personal information such as browser type, device type, pages visited, and time spent on the site through standard web analytics. This data is aggregated and does not personally identify you.
d) Conversations with Avi
Avi, our AI study assistant, is available to learners with a paid course. If you use it, we store your conversation (your messages and Avi's replies) together with the time, the page you used it on and the page you came from, your approximate country, your browser type and your IP address. We use this to keep Avi working, to look into misuse, and to improve its answers. A question Avi could not answer may be emailed to our support team for the same reason. Your messages, and the age and goal you may choose to tell Avi, are sent to our AI service providers (Section 4) to produce each reply. Please do not share account numbers, PAN, passwords or other sensitive details with Avi.
2. How We Use Your Information
Your information is used solely for the following purposes:
- Educational content delivery: Sending newsletters, new resource alerts, and educational updates.
- Promotional communications: Sharing information about new Simplegence content, tools, guides, and features.
- Responding to enquiries: Replying to messages submitted through our contact form.
- Running Avi: Answering your questions, looking into misuse, and improving Avi's answers (Section 1(d)).
- Platform improvement: Understanding how users interact with our website to improve content and user experience.
3. We Do Not Sell Your Data
Simplegence will never sell, rent, trade, or share your personal information (including your email address) with any third party for their marketing or commercial purposes. Your data stays with us and is used only as described in this policy.
4. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services to operate our platform:
- Supabase: To store contact form submissions, newsletter sign-ups and conversations with Avi. Data is stored in a private, access-controlled database. You can review their privacy policy at supabase.com/privacy.
- AI service providers (Anthropic and Groq): To produce Avi's replies. Your messages to Avi are sent to them for that purpose. You can review their privacy policies at anthropic.com/legal/privacy and groq.com/privacy-policy.
- Resend: To send our emails, including a copy of a question Avi could not answer to our support team.
- Google Fonts: To load web fonts. Google may collect usage data as outlined in their privacy policy.
We do not use any advertising networks or sell data to advertisers.
5. Data Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, alteration, or destruction. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Unsubscribe from our emails at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email we send.
- Request deletion of your personal data by contacting us at support@simplegence.com.
- Request access to the personal data we hold about you.
7. Cookies and Analytics
We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to improve your experience and understand how our website is used.
a) Functional Cookies
These cookies are necessary for the website to function correctly and do not collect personally identifiable information. An example is your cookie consent preference stored in your browser's local storage.
b) Analytics Cookies (Google Analytics 4)
We use Google Analytics 4 (Measurement ID: G-W7D4PC1HK0) to collect anonymised, aggregated data — including pages visited, time spent on site, device type, and browser. No personally identifiable information is collected. Analytics cookies are only loaded after you provide consent through our cookie banner.
b-ii) Cookie-free Page Counts
Separately from Google Analytics, we count page views on our own server without cookies and without any identifier that persists. Each view records only the page path, the referring website's domain, a device class (desktop / mobile / tablet) and a one-way hash that changes every day, so the same visitor cannot be recognised from one day to the next. Your IP address and browser details are used to compute that hash and are not stored. Because nothing here identifies you, this count runs regardless of your cookie choice.
c) Managing Your Cookie Preferences
8. Children's Privacy
Simplegence is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the website constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
